It Is Almost Friday Again

This is some American Crafts Paper I bought a couple of weeks ago at Michaels. Have you seen the new papers they are carrying? So Cool. I made this card yesterday after I watched a new video on the Gina K TV website. Every Wed I think she puts out a new or revisited technique and a challenge. I've got to get a blinkie. This week is using ink. Remember this. Stamp Image, emboss with crystal clear and brush bleach on the areas you want to turn colors. Use a heat tool to speed up the drying time. I also punched the frame with a lace punch from Stampin Up' and the paper for the flower is done using the glue and pearl x powders on gloss paper. I'll talk about that more sometime soon.

52 Sketches52Weeks sketch #12. Gotta love Julies sketches You need to go check out this site if you haven't already. KayLynn eating Doritos. I had bought this hat at Target dollar bins and when they came by to take the couch away I got to get these shots of her eating lunch. She looks great in a hat. I didn't like the background in the photo so I painted it out with acrylic and then I put a thick layer of Bead gel medium around the image of KayLynn. I like the effect. The paper is the American Craft again and the solid card stock is Bazzill. I used the bleaching technique on the leaves for the photo corners and the flowers are layers of die cut, punched and hand cut flowers that i shaped with an embossing stylus and foam pad. The last thing I did to them was some faux stitching with gel pens.

The flower in the center also has some die cut acrylic pieces that have been treated with alcohol ink. The

Here are a couple of Girlz just hanging out in front of the Bird Cage. It's Friday Yea!

Good Sat. morning. I ended up not getting to post this last night because my computer was having issues which led me to have issues with it so before everything went south all together I gave up and went in and made a couple of cards. Now it seems to have gotten over it and I can post this layout of KayLynn that I finished Thursday night for the 52Sketches52Weeks this week. You get two finished photos this week one at the beginning and one at the end only because I still don't know how to edit in this program and I can't get that last photo off. At any rate I just love all the girly pink. I found this Heidi Grace Designs paper the other day when I was at Michaels and just had to have it. The flourishes on the upper right corner and lower left are cut with my new Stampin Up' die cut. I love my Big Shot. After I cut the image from the Bazzil Paper and a scrap of Floral print i cut the large pieces apart and arranged everything to suit my vision. You can see here that for the centers of some of the flowers I used crystal effects and then sprinkled on glitter. Then after it dries over night you can shake off the excess glitter. When the crystal Effects is so thick you really want it to dry before you mess with it. I so love those little flocked birds on that paper, even though this is turned sideways.
This one flower on the lower left is stamped with Stampin Up' Playful Petals and colored with colored pencils. I ran the pieces through the Big Shot using a Cuttle Bug Swiss dots embossing Folder first. The other flowers were made by layering die cut and punched flowers. I also used buttons, rhinestones and puff paint to accent them.

On the large circle before I started laying everything down I used a scalloped edge circle as a stencil and sponged pink ink onto the paper and then I layered the paper and photo over it. I also used faux stitching around the outside edge of the circle and across the bottom of the strip to the right. I also used puff paint to make the dots. Love the birds and the buttons and glitter in the centers of the flowers.

Last but not least. I printed this photo in black and white and then I used distress ink refills to paint her lips and some of the flowers on her shirt. I always get nervous painting on photos because if you screw it up you have to start over.

And there it is again.

This is the Mojo Monday sketch for this week and I used Anerican Crafts paper and one of my new Anya stamps. I used colored pencils to color the image and that is faux stitching around the edges of the piece.

This is a card for Verva stamps over in the forum at SCS. The twist this week was to make it a birthday card. I used Stampin Up' Tea Party designer paper and the stamp for the cupcake I've had for awhile and I can' remember who the maker is. The little creature eating a cupcake is Inkadinkado. I guess that is a dog. Anyway, I distressed the edges of some of the papers and added a little glitter ribbon and rhinestone bow. Use the red heavy duty sticky tape for the ribbon strips and then one strip at a time cover with glitter, that way you can use different colors.

It is another open house weekend at my house and I have a ton of things to get finished up this morning along with I want to finish moving the studio and living room. I will have pictures of the finished project next week. Really.

Have a great weekend everyone and dont forget to check out Queen Kat Designs to see all the new stamps.

New Stamps

I am in love with Anya Stamps. There is also Ian stamps as well as some darling animals stamps. There are some new faries that I have to have and one that came out today, Ballerina Anya that I really want. Anyway my new Anyas came yesterday and so I sat down first thing this morning to make a card. I used Bo Bunny paper on this. I love the wqy it turned out. This is for a challenge over at PCP in the Anya Challenge Blog. I love this sketch. This is a Pretty Hat Anya Stamp that I also received yesterday. This is for a challenge for Gina K Stamp T.V. If you haven't been there yet go check it out. Anyway this is Basic Grey paper I used on this. The hat has been stamped with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. The flowers on the corners have a coat of Sparkel Mod Podge as do the flowers on the hat. The dots on the paper is done with puff paint. Fun images to w/c or use colored pencils.
I had a good time working on these today. Tomorrow it is back to finishing up the studio switch. I'm for sure gonna love that. I'll post pictures later in the week.
Have A Great Week Everyone.

New Girlz

Three Girlz. The one in the center is my first girl and as with anything, I keep finding ways to make them better. I still love my first one. They are becoming more elaborate and more stable.
Blue girlz Has a very elaborate hairdo. You can't see but it started with a doily that I sprayed with glimmer mist and and embossed the sufrface with Utez embossing powder. Nice thick embossing powder. The third button back is a clear flower button that came is a bag of buttons from Wall Mart or Michaels. I sure wish I could find more of those. I gave this one earrings and a flower in her hair. The skirt is the underneath piece of paper that I used for the doily.
Isn't she pretty?

George thinks this one looks like Cher. Not what I had in mind to begin but these creatures take on a life of their own. It is mesmerizing to sit there with a bag of buttons and start putting together faces. That is where they begin, with the faces. I love the dress on this one and the fact that she stands.

Here are the 4 Girlz together. I am not sure what I am going to do to showcase them best. I need to think of an appropriate vignette for them. I'll work on that

Red Girlz. Check out that body and I also found the perfect paper for her skirt. I like her earrings and glasses.

This is a Lay Out I did this week for 52 Sketches52Weeks. Back in January one day George gave KayLynn a sheet of stickers. Need I say More? The paper here is Bo Bunny. The 2nd layer of background paper is made using the technique where you paint a layer of acrylic paint on cardstock, let dry, paint on a layer of PVA glue and while it is wet a second coat of a different color of acrylic. Let it dry and you get this great pealed paint effect.

The design on the lower right is cut from a piece of the designer paper and then I layered some die cut daisys under some of the circles. I punched out a bunch os hearts and added some rhinestones, buttons and puff paint to finish it off.

This is a tag that I made when I first began experimenting with the pealed paint technique. Love that Queen Kat Owl. The rub-ons are Stampin'Up and the one little strip of pattern paper is Basic Grey.

Circles and Swirls. This was for a weekley challenge at TagYourIt site. I have to double check on the address. I love circles.

New Queen Kat Fairy Stamp and one of the background stamps. Paper is Basic Grey. I stamped the image with Versamark and then used clear embossing powder. Then I used the smooch the inkpad on freezer paper, spray with water and lift paint with tag until you get the results you like. For the wings I embossed the image onto pink vellum and then cut them out. Lastly I stamped the words and butterfly background stamp and embossed it.

This is a great Birthday card I made using the new Queen Kat Stamps. Love those flowers. First I stamped flowers and leaves in black and embossed on glossy paper. Then the three white circles are just the solid stamp embossed with clear Utez embossing powder, at the end of the process I sprinkled on a little glod embossing powder and heated that also. Then the ink pad smooching technique.

A bright spring day kind of card.

This is a cute little paper bird house for 3-D Challenge group over at Paper Craft Planet. Go check out Paper Craft Planet. There is so much to see and do there.

Have a good day everyone. I'm going to start painting my living room because it is going to be my studio when I can get the couch out of there.
