Happy New Year.

So it is finally here. Another New Year. I hope this one is not so crazy busy all the time like last year. I'm ready for a break. And I did take a little break and made a new card with an image by Wee Stamps. Unfortunately, Sylvia is in the process of figuring out what to do about the new VAT Tax Laws and is closed for the time being.  You can find her images in rubber at Whimsy Stamps. I am taking the clothing Class as well as the Animal Coloring Class and Hair and Skin class over at Kit and Clowder and just love the results so far. You must check out the Kit and Clowder Blog for the classes and come join us on Facebook too.
I had a really hard time getting the lighting right on this thing . I shot it 3 different lighting conditions and each one had one good result.

The first was shot outside and is the best as for color and detail. The papers are Colorbok from WallMart. The lace is actually a wrap meant for mason jars that you can find at Michaels.

Indoor shot with two regular light bulbs. Need to get a new florescent so I can have both. This shows really yellow but you do see the Glossy Glaze and Wink of Stella glitter brush on the wings and Wink on the dress trim. I colored this with my Copics.

And the inside is a little under done. I left off a flower.
I hope you all like this and now I'm off to do another coloring class. Love Love Love it.

Family Christmas Cards

So a while back I bought these great images from Rick St. Dennis. I just love them and I knew they would make perfect cards for my brother , nephew and daughter. The first card I'm sharing uses the image
Nimbleknees Gherkin Christmas Elf . How cute is this guy? This is for my brother. He will love it. I use Rick's images a lot for cards for Greggie. The papers are from a pad I picked up at Michaels last month by Recollections, I really liked it last year also because when I was going through my stash I found one also. Never can have too much paper. I cut the tree from one of the sheets that has a bunch of trees on it.
In the close up you can see that I have used Glossy Effects on the eyes and metallic pen on the bells. The image is colored with Copics.
And then the inside is finished off with an image from one of the sheets of paper. I forgot to photograph these before I wrote on them.
The next card is for one of my nephews and uses the image We're Here For Elf Class, They look like they need it. Papers are from the same pad.
The eyes on this are done with Glossy Effects that was heated with heat gun until it just began to bubble. And when it dries it has this really great effect.
 And then the inside.
This is a card I made for my daughter and son-in-law who live just outside of  Austin, Texas. I have used the image Eggnog Anyone? I do not remember what paper pad I used for this one. But it was from the year before last, I think. Can't find it right now.
I colored the image with Copics and then used little 3-D elements from Recollections. I was digging around for these and found a whole box of things in this color combination. Have got to make more cards. So little time.
I love the inside of this. I'm not sure where the Sentiment is from.
So I hope you are getting some fun Christmas cards as well as sending them out and I hope you have fun getting ready for Christmas. Today my Granddaughter and I are going to finish decorating the tree and taking the dogs to have pictures taken with Santa. Should be fun.

A New Bear

I know it has been a couple of weeks since I posted but I have been really busy with teaching and getting ready for the Holidays. I didn't even have dinner at my house but there was still a ton of work. And then yesterday and this morning I had to go out with my sisters for some Black Friday Shopping. We had fun.
So this weekend over at Kit And Clowder Facebook page there is a huge 5000 member party going on. Contests and Bingo and a lot of sharing. The members on the facebook site are all very talented colorists. You need to check it out HERE. I have three new cards I have been working on and I wanted to share . First off for this post I have a delightful Winston Bear (Splish Splash) from Polka Doodles
I have been taking the Animal Coloring Class over at Kit and Clowder and I am learning so much. This technique uses Alcohol to get the furry effect.
A little close up for you. I used my Copics Markers to color this with.
A better feel for the texture in this photo and I used Glossy Effects on the nose and bubbles.
And then the inside. The papers are from a pad I picked up at Michaels for $5.00 last week.
Hope you all have a great weekend.

A Besties Christmas Card.

It has taken me three days to find enough time to finish this card but I think it was worth it. I'm so happy it is the weekend and I can take some time for Me.
The image I used can be found HERE in Sherri's Etsy Shop. I colored the image with Copics and the card base is made with a Cut File from Monica's Creative Room. She has some great files.
I used some Liquid Applique on the hat and fur trim and then added some Stickles. Eyes have Glossy Effects on them.
You can see the detail of the SVG cut on the edge of the card pretty well here.
 And inside.
I will be entering this in the following Challenges:
Alphabet Challenge: Traditional Christmas
Crafty Catz: Christmas Is Coming
Cute Card Thursday: Red and Green
Delightful Challenges: Happy Holidays
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Time To Say Goodbye

I'm sad to say that after much deliberation it would be best for me to step down from the Bugaboo Design Team. It was a hard decision to make but with all the computer issues I've been having and not getting assignments in on time and not being able to uphold my duties as a Team Member, this will be the best for everyone. I have been on this Team since the beginning and will miss all my friends a lot.
So for the New Release this week over at Bugaboo Challenge Blog, I made this adorable image into a fun little Christmas Card.
I used papers from DCWV Winter In The Woods Stack and I did some Frantage on the background of the dog/deer.
A few shiny snowflakes and this Puppy is ready to go.
I started The Animal Coloring Class (Over at Kit And Clowder) and this is one of the techniques that I have been practicing. The next photo shows it a bit better. It uses the Imprint method on the dog fur. I am so excited about this class. Alyce is a great instructor and if you want to take your coloring to the next level, any one of the fun classes she offers will do it.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day and a great week.

New Release Tuesday At Bugaboo.

Well I spent the weekend pulling out all the Christmas Pads of paper and the boxes of embellishments to get ready for lots and lots of Christmas Projects. Which brings us to the subject of this post. An adorable image from Bugaboo. Head over to the Bugaboo Challenge Blog to see what the Designers have to share and then pop over to the Bugaboo Store to grab up some images for your own Christmas projects.
For my card today I used Traditional reds, and golds with papers from a Pink Paislee Pad.
I used double sided tape and glitter around the edges of the pattern paper. Then I added some stickers and snowflake buttons with a rhinestone on top to dress it all up.
I colored the image with Copics and used Liquid Applique and Stickles for the hat band and coat trim.
And the inside is ready to go.

Friday Freebie At Bugaboo

Now that Halloween is here (are you ready for the little Trick or Treaters) it is time to move into winter themed cards. And Jodie has an adorable image to share with you today. Run over to the Bugaboo Challenge Blog and see all the great creations by the Design Team and then head over to the Bugaboo Store and grab this image for yourself.
For my card today I used papers from Bo Bunny and added some rhinestones and some of the sticker elements from the paper collection and this was ready to go.
I colored the image with Copics and then used some DG3 Art Gel on the inner tube.
The inside is pretty also but I can't get the navy blues on the background to come out looking like blue. I always have a hard time with the darker colors. I need to work on a better lighting space for shooting cards.
I hope you all have a fun Halloween and a wonderful weekend.
