Anything But A Card at Bugaboo

It is time for Anything But A Card over at Bugaboo and look at what I did. I was having a hard time thinking of something to alter for this project until I stumbled onto these adorable photo frames that I got at the Dollar Store for (you got it) a Dollar.

I was able to just pry the front off the back and it made it so easy to Deco Podge the frame, then re-glue when everything is dry.

I used papers by Heidie Grace and a few of the wonderful flowers that come as punch outs in a separate pad.

And then of course the Images....These are from the Bunnies and Egg Images over in the shop. These guys are the cutest. Now I just need Easter to get here so I can get a cute photo of my granddaughters.
Woo Hoo.

I hope you head over to the Bugaboo Challenge Blog this morning and check out the other two Projects that Tammi and Jami have to share.
Have a Great Day and I hope to see you back tomorrow.

A New Challenge At Bugaboo.

It is Challenge Day at Bugaboo and do we have a good one for you. I always love to be pushed and when it comes to doing a monochromatic layout or card , that is a tuffie for me. You also have to add THREE Buttons. Now that is easy
So for my card today I decided to make a Spinner Card (instructions Here) and use this adorable Bunny And Eggs Image and a lot of Pink.

Here is the Bunny rolling. These are fun cards to make as well as give.Don't forget to hop on over to the Challenge Blog and see what the Designers have to share today and then run and make a project and enter it for the Challenge this week.
Have a great day.

Friday Freebie at Bugaboo. Woo Hoo!

Today is Friday Freebie Day at Bugaboo. This set is called " A Kids View;  God" How great is this image. You must run over to the Challenge Blog and see what the Designers have to share with you today and then head over to the Store
and grab your Freebie for today.
For my card I used papers by K&Co. and decided to go with an Easter theme. I found some envelopes that are 6&1/4" square so cutting a piece of double sided pattern paper made this east to decorate the inside too. Check out the photo below.

For the lamb I used a puffy pen and then some glitter (which is not showing up so well.)

And for the inside I printed a Sentiment that I have from The Cutting Cafe.
Have a great day and dont' forget to come back tomorrow.

A Challenge Week At Chi Chi Memories

It is time for a new Challenge over at Chi Chi Memories and we have this wonderful sketch by Natilie for you today.

I chose to use the Easter Digi Stamp Set, or I should say a few elements from the Easter Set.  This is such a fun set. I used K & Co. papers and embelllishments for this card.

This shows the great texture you get with the Colorbok Card Stock that I find at WallMart.  I colored this with my Copics.
I hope you coe by the Chi Chi Memories Challenge Blog and see what all the Designers have to share today and then join in the Challenge this week. For all the details Click Here. Have a great day!

Tutorial Wednesday For Bugaboo

Today is tutorial Wednesday over at Bugaboo and it is my turn to share with you. I have been doing a variation of this technique for making background paper for a long time but just recently I was looking at the Shimmerz Blog and saw this technique and decided to try it. This is so much fun! I used Jodie's wonderful images: Easter Chick and Floral Easter Egg for this card

You will need color wash spray. There are more and more brands out there all the time. I happen to have ready made Smooch, Adirondike Color Wash and Tim Holtz Perfect Pearls Mists along with an assortment that I have made myself.

You can make your own using a few drops of an ink refill in a mister bottle along with some Perfect Pearls Powder and water. 2 or 3 drops, 2 or 3 (tip of Popsicle stick) scoops of Perfect pearls and then fill with water and shake well. Easy Peasy.

A plastic garbage bag. Scrunch it up so you get some interesting patterns.

Spray your Color Wash over the bag and

place your paper down on top. Press lightly around the back of the paper so you are sure to get the surface covered. You don't need to press too hard here. You can always add more. In fact that is part of the fun. You can experiment with different combos.

And when you turn it over... Magic!

Spray another color over the remains of the last...
And look what you get! Pretty cool hu?
I used Cordinations Pearl Finish Paper for these papers but you can also use Glossy Card Stock and regular card stock too. Try different colors and papers. Just wipe excess off the plastic bag with a paper towel and start again.

Here are some other color combos and papers. Sorry for the bad lighting.

One other quick idea to share is when making the egg, I printed off a couple copies and some extra flowers and colored them with my Copics. I cut those out and ...

for one of the eggs I used my dry embossing tool and rounded the egg from the back side on a piece of foam.

I then used Dimensional to attach it to the card. I also cut out layers of the flower and used this technique  and I did the same with the little chicks head.
For some reason my Blog is not letting me load any more photos at the moment. I had a few more of the finished card. I will be back if I can figure it out.
 Have a Good Day Everyone

New Release Day at Bugaboo

Is this a cutie or what? This will make anyone feel better. This is an image from Bugaboo new line of Occupational bears. If You want to grab some others just head over to the Bugaboo shop and garb a few.  And don't forget to run by the Bugaboo Challenge Blog and see what the Design Team has to share with you today.
For my card I colored Miss Nurse Bear with Copics and used papers from 3 bugs In A Rug.
A little close up. The flower is made by cutting circles out of the pattern papers and then spraying them with some Iridescent color mist and then wade them out and then straighten them and layer them together. So easy and so cool.
Have a Great Day

A Layout for Love and CS Designs.

About 7 months ago my Granddaughter came home from a vacation to see her grandparents in Michigan and announced that she was going to cut her hair off and give it to Locks Of Love when it got to her Bum. Well I didn't think that would go over well with my son-in-law but surprise to me he was all for it. So a couple weeks ago we all decided that it was time. KayLynn had the 10" she needed. So using some fun papers from Heidie Grace and some images by Chris over at CS Designs for the flower centers I put together this little layout .

First of all let me say that I have been having so much fun working as a Guest Designer for CS Designs this month. I love the Images and they just seem to lend themselves to my style. I mean you all know how much I love flowers and the different faces couldn't be more perfect for these and also my Bead Girlz. And the other little characters are so much fun to use on cards.
Chris also has a set of patterns for Spirilli Designs that you can buy in her store. I have been having fun with this too. I used the technique for these flowers.

I really like the photo strip that I used here which I found at My Grafico as a Cut File. I cut it from this fab glitter paper and it is perfect to tell this story.

I thought the mirror in the center of the large flower was apropos. And the overlays on the two corner photos are by K&Co. They have such great elements.

A couple of close-ups.

Have a great day.

Lots of Bling At Pile It On.

Well today is all things Bling at Pile It On. Bling in all shapes and sizes, as much or little as you like. Sometimes a little goes a long way. Today our sponsor is Simon Says Stamps and you have a chance to win a great prize from them.
Recently I won a gift Certificate from a challenge at Basic Grey for Simon Says and this is one of the wonderful Wiff Of Joy Stamps that I bought.
I used Basic Grey Papers for this and added a few of the punch outs flowers and borders to liven things up. I added little dollops of Stickels here and there on those .
.

I printed the image on a piece of Bazill textured paper and colored it with my copics.  I stamped the image flowers and the grass on some of the pattern paper and then paper pieced it together.

Another bit of bling (at the top of the card) is a section of a floral pick that I purchased at Michaels. The button is a vintage plastic button that I bought at a Button show a couple of weeks ago and then there is always a few rhinestones thrown in for good measure.
I will be entering this card in the following challenges this week.:

A new CS Design Project

Today I have a New Card to share with you that I have made using a Design by Chris over at CS Designs. This is one of the images from the Arty Montage series. I used some new papers I got by DCWV and I printed the image on some w/c card stock that I have and colored this with my Copics.

Here is a close up that shows the layers and the Spirelli. This Spirelli Template comes from a set that Chris offers in the store. I am looking forward to her making these into cut files. I started out with a simple square but I have plans to do more.

And here is a really close up. Look at the layers. I love that these designs lend themselves so well to this technique even when you print them very small. I love cutting out the pieces, it is very relaxing to me.
Come on over to the CS Design Blog and check out the Big Extravaganza going on right now.Photobucket

I Got a Layout Finished

This is a Layout that I did for my Guest Design Project over at CS Designs this week. The details will follow:
But first I just have to share this little tidbit about my youngest granddaughter.
My granddaughter KayLynn has been talking about having her hair cut for a very long time and she wanted to donate it to Locks Of Love. Well Friday was the day. My daughter and older granddaughter and I accompanied her to the hair salon. Here is how it went.
This is how long it was. And natural curly to boot but the weight of all that hair straightens it out. Not anymore.
This is the ponytail going away.
Oh boy a hair wash just like the big girls.
Some trimming and a little layering...
And some blow drying( KayLynn wanted her to straighten it some)
She doesn't look that excited here but then I guess she never realized how much time it took to get a hair cut since she has never done it before.
The end product. Very cute and I can't wait to see what it will look like when she washes it and lets it go.
Okay so on to the Layout. I have been working with these Images from CS Designs and this is how it all came together. I will be making more flowers with these Expressive Hearts.  I started with a photo of my two granddaughters and a gate that is from a SVG file by Treasure Box Designs. Let me just say that I love my Cricut and SVG files. While I'm on that subject let me just tell you that the flowers here are from a File by Fred She Said. There are a lot of SVG files out there so if you have a Cricut check into the Sure Cuts A Lot program. So much fun.
I used a Tim Holtz Mask on the base card stock and spritzed on 3 different shades of Perfect Pearls Mists.
The little sentiment is also by CS Designs and is a freebie this month. You can find all the details for that HERE! 4 free sentiments just for participating in the Big Extravaganza. Photobucket
This gives a better view of the Perfect Pearls spritz and a close-up of  the rhinestone swirls.
So here is a close up of the 3 Flower Girls. I printed the faces on some W?C paper and colored them with my Copics, Printed two sets so I could cut the hair out and place it over the first layer with dimensionals.
The buttons in the centers of the other flowers are from my stash that I bought at the Button Show last week.
The borders along the bottom and on the right side are by K&Co.
The green fabric flower and feathers are from a barrette that I found at a Farmers market for a dollar.
I love the little bling on the cheek.
I added some tiny pearls and rhinestones to some of the leaves. I hope you get some great ideas to try on your own projects.
I will be entering this in the following challenges:
Dareing Cardmakers:Home Baked (make your own embelishment.)
All Sorts Challenge blog: Luck of the Irish ( use lots of Green)
Crafty Calendar Challenge Blog; Spring ( how springie are those flowers?)
