New for Monday

Keep this on top! I  wanted to say Thank You to everyone that stops by and visits my blog each week and leaves me all those wonderful comments. So for anyone that leaves a comment this week I am going to draw a name on next Friday, New Years Evening and send you this wonderful assortment of Winter embellishments that I have been cutting out with my Cricut and Some SVG Cut files from Lettering Delights. I will be adding more during the week. So check back and see how big the prize gets by next Friday. One comment is all you need though.

I sat down last night and printed some photos from Christmas and then made a layout. Woo Hoo for me. I had been working on these cut outs using Basic Grey papers and SVG Files from Lettering Delights so the layout went together really quickly.

This is a photo of my granddaughters, Claudette and KayLynn, with my dog Pearl. You can barely see the dog because Kaylynn is lying on her. The red flourish at the top is done with Stickles.

Here is a close-up of the cut outs. I love doing these things. These files can be purchased seperately or as a bundle. There is one for the Santas 10 in all the trees again 10 and the snowflakes 10 also. I have gotten pretty good at breaking these apart and organizing the pieces on the cutting mat and then placing the different papers I want in those areas so I only have to make 1 cut.

The next project that I wanted to share today is an Organizer/calendar that I made. Each month will have a new file folder and then each year you just have to update the calendar. This is made from 2 file folders for the base. I then picked pattern paper that goes together and covered the parts of the folders that will show. Added a pocket and a calender, some ribbon and snowflakes and a cute little bird. I punched and reinforced two holes at the top so you can hang this by key ring loops on cup hooks. Are I clever or what?

I think you can see the three pockets better in this photo.

And here is a close up of the lower half.
Have a great day everyone

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Merry Christmas One and All! And of course Happy New Year! This card was sort of a hard one for me because I wanted it to have a clean elegant look and you know how carried away I get with layers of paper and embellishments. But I'm very pleased with the way it turned out. One can never go wrong with a Bugaboo Image and Scarlette is the ultimate party girl.
It is Saturday and a Challenge Day over at the Bugaboo Challenge Blog so if you all got some nifty new supplies for Christmas put them to work and make a New Year Celebration Card and play with us this week.
There is also a great sale going on in the Store right now through December 28th.  30% off your entire order at checkout. use the Coupon code 7534540V.

I also wanted to say Thank You to everyone that stops by and visits my blog each week and leaves me all those wonderful comments.
Have a Great Day and a Fantastic New Year!

New Release Tuesday

If you haven't had the pleasure of meeting Jodies Bobbleheads before, this is a great opportunity to do so. Bugaboo has Halloween, ChristmasThanksgiving,  and now these. Run over to the Challenge Blog and see what the Designers have to share with you today and then run on over to the Bugaboo Shop and pick up some for yourselves.
I used Basic Grey Oliver paper collection to make this card  and the sentiment and banana is from a clear stamp from the Dollar Bin somewhere. Cute Hu? It felt strange making a card that was not Christmas themed. Since there are only 4 days left until Christmas,  I guess that will be true until next fall. oh well maybe Christmas in July. I will have some great layout pages to share though.

I wanted to share with you what I did Friday evening. I have been buying SVG files from various companys since I got my Cricut months ago. But I don't always remember what I have so I'm trying to figure out a system that will let me see what I have. These files are from Lettering Delights and they are called Alpine Snowflakes. I am so pleased to have found this site and I hope you will check them out. They have Clip Art  files, Fonts, Alaphabets, Graphics, All sorts of goodies and they are very simple to use.
Okay, so I opened each file, sized the snowflake to 2"high and then broke it apart and layed it out in a 3"X6" space and then cut it from 4 different types of paper. I did that with all 10 of them and then I used one of the outlines as a stencil and did this using my Distress Inks. The upside to all of that work is .....

A whole bunch of Snowflakes just ready to go on a page.  These still need centers , like rhinestones or buttons or stickles. How fun is this. Maybe I should do a little Blog Candy. Come back Christmas Day and I'll see what kind of treat I can share with you.
Have a great day everyone.

I made one of these wonderful Cheesecakes for my party on Tuesday Evening and it was a huge success and it really was not hard to make.

A Christmas Mini Album

On Tuesday evenings every other wee I teach a Techniques class at my house and every year we have a Christmas Party and bring a gift to share. $10. limit and wrap it up pretty. Well at the last minute I decided to make a Mini Album to give. That was Sunday after I got home from shopping. I am quite pleased with what I turned out.
I used different chipboard pieces from various mini albums I have collected from dollar bins here and there and this giant acrylic Snowflake for the cover and then I cut a couple of acrylic pieces for the inside. I used mostly papers from Bo Bunny and tags and overlay pieces from K & Co.
So this is what the book looks like all together.

I took a few baubles and beads and ribbons to dress up the ring that holds it all together.

Here is a view of the cover. I used Alcohol Inks to color outer edges of the snowflake and a beautiful overlay for the Title.

.

Inside front cover

Page One. These Papers are Beautiful. the frame is cut with a Cuttlebug Folder.

I used my new Tim Holtz Alterations Die for the Slide Strip and put a plain white paper behind so you can put little photos in there.

How fun is this shape? I love ornaments.

Another piece of Acrylic that I cut and then used Alcohol inks around the edges. I left openings in all the frames that I used so that whoever got this could put photos in.

the row of houses across the bottom is cut with another new Tim Holtz die.

A very big tag.

And some vintage postcard papers and frames.

A Christmas Tree to decorate.

And the backside as well.

I really like this page and.....

The Back Cover.

This is the Box that I put the gift in, All decorated with various pieces from my stash and a cardinal cut from a gift bag from the Dollar Store.

I even put a Key hole on the front flap.

Inside the box were a bunch of little goodies so that the recipient could add to the decorations on the pages.

Now I really have to make myself one of these. I hope this inspires You to do the same.
Have A Great Day Everyone!
