Last of the QK challenges for me

This Christmas Card is for the challenge for Jules and her Kick Bootie Christmas. Now that I have it up here I'm thinking I should have done more. But I'm Done. I've run out of time. Anyway for this challenge I used Joe the monster and put him in fancy pants with a fancy yet simple and elegant tree. Faux stitching in gold around the outside edges and a pretty doilie along with some beads and rhinestones. I think it's pretty even if it doesn't have a gazillion flowers on it. These two pictures are reversed in their order. They are for the last challenge by Queen Kat and it is supposed to be an all purple card and then an almost all purple with a little pink. Well they are both here. And that is a lot of purple. I feel bad because I don't know who the maker of the paper is. I bought this pad a long time ago at Michaels and lost the cover a long time ago.I also finally used some of my felt flowers that I've had for a while now. These are pretty.
This has been a really great crop with some really fun challenges. I hope to talk to every one again soon.

I'll be back after the weekend . Have Fun this weekend whatever you do. I wish it would rain.

A Far Out Christmas Card.

This is the card for Maria's challenge for QKD Birthday Bash yesterday. It is supposed to be a far out setting, like space robots or whatever. Again these are the only QK stamps I have so I just turned Buddy The Monster into a Santa delivering gifts in his reindeer spaceship. How cute is this? I just used white acrylic to paint on the beard and then used flocking on the white areas. The background paper is Dream Street Papers, Wonderous Winter Series. Rhinestones, sequins, snowflakes and some silver embossing finish it off. I am going to get all these challenges done with these 4 stamp sets if it kills me.
Off for a little nap with KayLynn and then back to work. I still have 6 more cards to do for these challenges. I am determined now to get them all done. Melissa

last post for tonight I think

This one is for Jessicas Butterfly Stamp Challenge. Well I don't have a QKD Butterfly stamp and I know we don't have to use Queen stamps but it is just an extra little challenge for myself. For this I used Doodlebug shimmering pink paper and Basic Grey Urban Prairie series papers, some of my handmade flowers, brads, buttons,(those are tiny heart buttons on her skirt), a shimmering silver crown and beautiful butterfly wings from Clear Stamps. I managed to stick to the challenge, Stamp a big beautiful butterfly and still use QKD stamps. Ta Da
These were some great challenges.

QKD Birthday Celebration

The first card here is for the challenge by Sierra Granny. Thank You Theme forgive the photo but the sun is gone and I didn't want to wait until tomarrow. I used SU Riding Hood Red for the card base and papers from Fancy Papers Celebrate Series. I used the Queen Kats Miss Piggie Monster Stamp for the image and the sentiment from a Queen Kat word stamp that I have. I added rhinestones, a couple of ribbons and a handmade flower. This is for Heather s Rainbow Challenge. I used the flowers from QK Diva Monster stamp set and the flowers from the QK sentiments stamp that I have. I stamped each one in the colors of the rainbow that Heather listed, cut them all out added some glitter on each. I sponged the background with all the colors but you can't see it for the flowers.
I love my Monster QK Stamps. I won these stamps at the World Card Making Day that Queen Kat and Odd Bird Planet had the first part of October. It was so much fun then and this is too. I just wish I had more time today to get things done. Anyway this challenge is for the Queen Kat Kick Off Sketch Challenge on their blog. I used Buddy The Monster Stamp Set and The Happy Birthday from QK Sentiments. The paper is Basic Grey Cupcake Series papers and SU Riding Hood Red and Always Artichoke . I used Crystal Effects on the balloons and dots.

I'll be back later with more.

4 Cards, 1 Lay Out and A House.

I have been having such a hard time keeping up with my Blog lately. I will have to try harder. This piece is for the Dans ma maison il y a... This is a challenge that I found on a site from France a month or two ago. I love the work that these two women do. (In My House)this week there is blue. Each week these two gals post a subject like blue, a woman, halloween, words, and then you make a house that incorporates that idea or reflects it. So this is my version of there is blue.I used one of my pipe cleaners wrapped with yarn and beads to make the hanger for this piece. I think I should use this format for future houses as well as the arch challenges. I have 2 arches to finish tomarrow and then I will post those. The paper that I used for the upstairs wall is an experiment that I did a couple of months ago. I don't really know how I did this now. Too bad because it turned out really neat . Love the picture of Marilyn printed on blue marbeled paper. The butterflies on the corners are from a bag of sequins that a friend gave me last week.

The paper on the lower part of the building is made with gel medium mixed with acrylic and brushed onto clear acrylic and combed with a swirl motion. Then I sprinkled on some glitter and let it dry. I turned the paper over so the smooth side faces out and won't get damaged. I printed the image of the woman on some blue marbeled paper added the picture of the door along with some rub-ons and flowers and beads to finish it all off.

This is a layout I did for a sketch challenge on the Bo Bunny Blogspot this week. I used their Holiday Cheer and Believe Papers along with rhinestones, buttons, beads, glitter,Faux pompoms and handmade flowers. I took these photos of George and the girls last year at Christmas time. I love my new Big Shot. It makes making flowers so much eaiser and more fun.

I went to a place that sells lots of ribbons last weekend and I found some interesting stuff. This eyelash ribbon was one of the items as well as some pull bow ribbon that I used on the flower on the upper left side of this layout.

It is hard to see from this photo but I used a glitter pen to color the petals of the flower to make it sparkle.

Kindness Card for Queen Kat Birthday. Queen Kat Designs is having their 2nd Birthday tomarrow and in conjuction with 3 other companies they are sponsoring challenges. This one is for Stamp Something Blog. I liked this sketch and I decided to make it in the regular business size envelope format so I could fit the images on it. I bought this stamp set the other day when I was at Michaels. It is Hearts & Stars by Autum Lakes. I used SU Pink Piroutte and some Doodlebug Pink Glitter paper and a heart paper by someone, I don't know who. I used some glitter and sparkle Mod Podge to make it shine. This is my card for Mojo Monday 61 this week. This is a card I made for Johanna today while I was waiting for her to give birth to Kylie, which she did at 5:47 this evening. I hear that everyone is healthy and very happy that she is here finally. For this card I used SU Rose Red, Always Artichoke, and Regal Rose and some patterened Paper by Anna Griffin. The stamp of the birds is by Inkadinkado and the flower is SU Merci from Sell A Bration last year.

This card is for a color Challenge at Paper Crat Planet, the challenge was to use Riding Hood Red, Really Rust, Going Grey and Whiaper White. I used SU Upsy Daisy for the image and the sentiment. I stamped the image with Versamark and used Perfect Pearls to color it.

This is my card for Kylie. I will take it to her tomarrow I hope and then I will get some pictures of her and post them here. This card is also for another challenge for Queen Kats Birthday from the Sheetload of Cards site.
I used Queen Kat Stamp Miss Piggy, Monster stamp set. for the image and SU Welcome Baby from the Nursery Necessities Set. The paper and Chipboard Flowers are by Colorbok. I bought it at JoAnns in their $1.00 scrapbooking section. I love the colors and the design.

I will try to keep this updated more often, even short little posts would be better for me than waiting so long in between. Well everyone have a good week!

Busy Lately

I'm just going to talk about this group of photos right this minute because all of a sudden I can't keep my eyes open. The first one in this group is for the black & white Challenge. I used rhinestones for that little extra punch and I used puff paints on the fur to add some dimension. Oh Happy Day is for the Stamping challenge. Emphisis on stamped image which these two characteres makes easy. They are from Queen Kat Designs. The two photos that come mext are an ATC case and the back of anATC with my business card affixed to the back. and the one after that is of an ATC with Lauren Baca, on it. I love these. The last photo in this series is my card for the Monochromatic Challenge. I used a lot of Red on this. SU Real Red, Rose Red, and our desiner papers in the reds. I made some red paper flowers and added some rhinestones and embossed the background paper on the top half of the card. I have been making a lot of square cards lately.

My space looks like this a lot. It has a tendency to get like this every day and then I have to clean it all up so I can start all over again.

I hope you have a good weekend, I hope we get a baby this weekend.
