New Release Day At Bugaboo

Well it is Tuesday again and time for another New Release Day over at Bugaboo. It is always fun to see what Jodie has added to the store each Tuesday and Friday. This week the Design Team got to work with this adorable image. Head on over to the Challenge Blog and see what they have to share.  I decided to go with a girl theme because I have a new great niece arriving soon and this will make a great card for the shower.  I had fun with this. I know it is very busy but I kept thinking and finding new things to put on the card.
The papers are Basic Grey and some digital papers from one of the companies that I go to. I can't remember right now. I colored the image with Copics and then added glossy Glaze to the rattle.
I used a sketch from Sketch N Stash for the layout.
I will also enter this in:
Fashionista Challenge: Birthday or Baby

I hope everyone has a great day.

A Color Challenge At Bugaboo

Today there is a Color Challenge over at Bugaboo and I always seem to have such a hard time with those. But today was so much fun. I think I was inspired because I was working on a card that I knew was going to my Grandson for his First Birthday which is in a week . Wait till you see this I'm sure you will agree that this is perfect for a little guy. But first here is the photo for the color inspiration.

I used papers by My Minds Eye and cut a beautiful flourish from some blue metallic paper.I used Jodie's Image Monster Birthday-Present for this and there are more in the Bugaboo Store that are so darn cute. I colored the two pieces of Chipboard using Distress inks and the smooch and lift technique. It is always so much fun to dig through my buttons to find the perfect ones for a project. I have a ton.
 A close up for you.

I used the sketch from this weeks Deconstructed Sketch
Deconstructed Sketch No. 62
I also will enter the Emerald Fairies Challenge which is to use Flourish/Swirls.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Cute Card Thursday and Bugaboo

Today over at Bugaboo we are Sponsoring Cute Card Thursday: And I'm Playin.
Cute Card Thursday has some great Challenges  every week and today's is a great one.
image
So head over to the Cute Card Challenge Blog and Check Out the great examples by the Design Team and get busy and enter the Challenge yourself. You have a chance to win some Bugaboo Stamps.
So the Challenge today is Oh, So Distressing. Well that means you should show off a Distressing Technique or two or three. Whatever you like. I myself went all out, as usual. So first off here is my card and then I'll give you a list.
First off I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink (Tim Holtz) to distress the outer edges of the card base.
Next is a piece of vintage type that has the edges distressed using a handy Distressing tool (Stampin Up') and the Vintage Photo ink around the torn edges. For the Sentiment (7 Gypsies) I stamped it on a piece of white card stock and then did my smooch and lift technique using Vintage Photo ink . Same with the little hand at the bottom. The strip on the left hand side is a piece of Kraft Card stock that has been run through the Big Shot with one of my oldest and fave Embossing Folders. Edges are Distressed, inked and then I rubbed Vintage Photo Ink over the top and sprinkled water on it to give it a vintage feel. The Image, Stella Birthday-One More Candle was colored with Copics and Snow Pen and Stickles added to her hair and the outside edges distressed with Vintage Photo Ink.

The piece of green velveteen is distressed and embossed but unfortunately it doesn't show up very well.
I hope you all join in this week and Have a Great Day.

New Release Day At Bugaboo

First off I want to say a Big Thank You to everyone that stopped by my Blog last week and left such wonderful comments. Christmas In July at Bugaboo was a Big Success again this year and if you head over to the Bugaboo Blog you will find a list of winners from the week. Olga from Elephant Fairies was the winner of the images that I used for my card last week.  Don't forget that there is a sale going on for the remainder of the month.

For my card today I decided to use some papers and embellishments that I have made. Some of the prints are from a pad I got at Hobby Lobby last year when they opened up a store here. Love these.
the silver background at the top is a piece of aluminum foil crumpled, then flattened  and run through the Big Shot with an embossing folder.
I used a gel pen to highlight the word shiney and added Stickles to the girl.
. This is so cute. I hope you all have a great week.

A New Challenge At Dilly Beans.

Well this week we have a Color Challenge for you over at Dilly Beans Challenge Blog. We would like to see you use the colors Pink and Orange. I thought  that would be an easy combo but when I started going through my papers I had a hard time finding the two colors that I wanted to use together. But I did it. I also decided to use something a little different. If you haven't checked out Megan's Collage Sheets, you should. You can find them HERE  I used Ruby's Posies.
The papers are by DCWV and the sentiment is Stampin Up' I cut out the images and layered the single head on to the Ruby image and then trimmed the arms along the dress so I could have her holding the picture frame. I used a lot of Stickles and Glossy Glaze.
 A close up for you.
