Last post for 2008

This will be my last post for 2008. I have to keep my fingers crossed that my computer doesn't freek out on me again. You will see a little farther down here what I mean. I'm playing catch up tonight. I'd like to start the year not feeling like I'm burried under a bunch of stuff that I want to do. Ha. Ha! That won't happen, I don't think, because there aren't enough hours left in this day. Oh well. At least it is all fun stuff. This is a LO I did for the Basic Grey December Page contest. This is a photo from KayLynn's 4th Birthday. I used Basic Grey Urban Prairie paper and the element stickers that go with this series. The baclground sheet of paper was distressed along the right and bottom edges and then I stamped along the edge with my new BubbleWrap background stamp by Queen Kat Stamps and Tattered Rose Distress Ink. I also used a hole punch to punch out areas of the edge of the paper. The flowers were made by layering Doodlebug glitter papers, Ten Second Studio 40g metal sheets and Basic Grey papers that I cut with Sizzix and Cuttlebug Dies. Rhinestones finish them off.

The heart shapes were cut with Sizzix Dies as were the little flowers. I used shrink plastic, small beads, rhinestone, pearl and Scribbles 3-d paint for the little accents.

I use the Scribbles brand puff paint and glitter paint found with the fabric paint at Michaels and JoAnns. I love Stickles and I get more tubes all the time. I used the 3-d paint on the butterflies here.

I finally bought some Ranger Distress Crackel Paint a couple of weeks ago. I used that on the chipboard #4 and then I painted on a couple layers of Glitter Mod Podge . I used a piece of cardboard as the base for the photo that I distressed and painted with a wash of white and then pink acrylic. I like this effect.

Below are The card and purse that I was getting ready to comment on when my computer froze up. The card is one that I made using the Verve stamps that I got from Julie over at Poetic Artistry for her 2 year Blogaversary. She celebrated by holding a drawing and all we had to do was leave a comment on her Blog of what we discovered last year that we loved. Or something that we were thankful for. Well I have a ton to be thankful for, First off, for having a heart attack . I have a different attitude about life. Yes folks, what they say is true. What doesn't kill ya does make you stronger. I havent had a ciggarette or glass of wine since Feb.3rd and other than gaining more weight than I'm comfortable with, I am healthy and extremely happy. Anyway back to the contest. out of 500 plus comments mine was chosen. What fun. I won a bunch of Verve and Cats Pajamas stamp sets, paper, some stickels and cardstock ,both shimmer white and designer paper and a few other goodies. This has been a great prize month for me. Wow! I made this card using the paper and one of the Verve stamp sets.

The second item is a purse that I made a while back. I made it to take with me when all of us girls went out to see Tina Turner back in October. I love it.

Continue on to the next post to get everything else.

It Is The Last Day of 2008

I really like these two LO's of KayLynn & Zia. This paper is Bo Bunny, I used my MS lace punch to do the outter edges. Some of the flowers use 40g metal sheets cut with Cuttlebug Die layered with Designer papers. KayLynn liked helping me with the decorations. I started the tree that day.

I like the way this card came out. This is my first Tim Holtz Stamp. I used some of the Techniques that Tim Highlighted on his 12 days of Christmas Tags early this month. The paper I used for the base of the stamped image is done by mooshing Distress ink onto a page protector, spraying it with water and then picking up the color on glossy card stock. Dry with heat gun and add more ink until you have what you like.

New paper and a Hostess set from the new SU catalog. I also used one of last seasons stamps for the larger flower on the left.

This is my new Magnolia Santa.

Queen Kat Robot. Yea! Love the Robots. I just ordered some more night before last. Isn't this paper great? It is some I get from our local stamp store. I just love that texture.

This is my Tim Holtz inspired tag that I did for a challenge that my friend Nikki from Queen Cat made. She won on two seperate occasions in the drawing that Tim had on his Blog during the 12 days of Christmas Tag Techniques. The fact that she was picked twice was something special because so many people made comments every day, Nikki was kind enough to share her good luck with this challenge and since I won i will be getting a piece of her prize soon. Thank You so much.

This is a group of cards that I made for various challenges the week of 12-23. I love this first one. These are my favorite birds by Inkadinkado and they are stamped on white and colored with colored pencils and then mounted on some paper I painted a while back . The squares are inchies and the rectangles are Moo size (I think)

I love my hearts and I like the stitching on this. PCP Sketch Challenge I used the new Rasberry Tart Paper from SU.

PCP Color Challenge

These are the oldest I think. I love this Magnolia card. This is the first one I made with my two new stamps that I got a few weeks ago. I then went back the next day to get the Santa. I should have just bought it that first day. I never can remember from one post to the next what order to upload the photos. At least I know that you start with the last group of photos you want first so then you start with the last photo first. Whatever. This would be a close-up of the flowers on this L.O.

Another close-up

Claudette has turned ten. Wow They sure grow up fast. This LO is going to go tp Prima for the monthly sketch challenge. I really liked this LO.

I had so many good things happen to me in 2008, I can't wait to see what all 2009 brings. Wishing You All A Very Happy New Year

28 December, 2008

December is almost over, RATS!

I can't believe that this year is almost over. I accomplished a lot but there is still a lot more that I wanted to get done. I should be happy that I get to do all the fun stuff that I do and stop worring about the things I can't do.
Right at the moment I just wanted to post these 2 cards I did last night. This first one is for The Roses On Paper Blog Challenge. I just love these stamps and I have for a very long time. I am so happy that our local stamp store started carrying them. This is my 5th stamp I think, in less than a month. This card is for Queen Kat Stamps. It is for the QK Wednesday Challenge. This week Maria challenged us to "Glitter it up" in honor of Christmas. So I did one of my new Robot QK figures and sent her out shopping in honor of all the after Christmas Sales. Speaking of sales I have taken advantage of a few, now I'm really broke. Oh Well. I have cool stuff.

Have a good day, I will be back in a couple of days to get all the other things I am working on posted.

It Is The Day After Christmas

Merry The Day After Christmas! I'm going to just post the decorations for now. I have to go through and figure out which cards and LO's I have and have not posted over the past few weeks. There are quit a few. I kept saying that after Christmas I would get it together and get organized. Well it is 7:19 a.m. on the 26th and I'm doing good so far. I've gone through all my e-mails and did this post. Now I have to go get dressed and ready for some shopping ( the stamp store doesn't open till 10 a.m. but I want to be there early. Lots of stuff 50% off and even some 50 cent stamps. I am hoping to pick up a couple more Magnolia Stamps.

This is one of the snowflake ornaments I made. That is a foam flake ,a plastic snowflake ( they come from the dollar store) and a paper snowflake that I made. I used alcohol inks to color the foam and plastic.

I love the way all the snowflake decorations came out. I was so lucky to find so many things to work with from the dollar store and from the dollar bins from Michaels.

This is my Forest of Trees on the table top in the Family room. I kept finding all these unique little trees at The Dollar Store and of corse I made the Paper ones. I still have two more paper trees I want to do.

I couldn't decide what to do with all these chickens that I had bought after Thanksgiving. They were just sitting there looking forlorn so I decided to incorperate them into the holiday decorations.

Oh Christmas Tree! I had thought I could cut back on the lights this year. I got it down to 1400 last year which was down from 1600 the year before. Well no luck, I'm back up this year. 1700! Yep 1700 lights. I think it looks pretty but I think my family thinks I go overboard.

These are some of my favorite ornaments and bears and I just had to throw in the photo of the glass girls. They turned out so nice and I did them such a long time ago and I never got around to posting them.

These are those last 2 cards from the 12 days of Christmas I did for Queen Kat. I love Jo the Monster. For the 12th day card we were supposed to use 12 embelishments, and I think I got a bakers dozen on it.

Have A good day Everyone.

08 December, 2008

I have so much to post.

These are the 12 Days of Christmas Cards that I have been working on for the challenge over at Paper craft Planet. I am so enjoying this site and I hope all of you go over there and check it out. I have just 2 cards left to do so I will come back tomarrow and show you todays and tomarrows. So far I am extremely happy with all of these, I like the first day with the acrylic see through front and I like Yesterdays Leaping Buddy. The 10th day of Christmas my true love gave to me ten lords a leaping. Well, for the challenge you just had to use a boy in a project. Up to this point I have been trying and succeding in putting all the things in the card but for these last 3, I don't see how that will happen. I'm using 5"X7" cards now and there just isn't enough room. Buddy the Monster stamp leaping was a hard thing to portray due to the fact that he has stumpy little legs and no arms. One of my other favs are the 8 Ladies Milking. I used Miss Piggy Monster stamp and reduced the image so I could fit them all in and I enlarged the cow. I also have to point out the 3 French Maid Hens. The sample card they showed that day was by Diana and she had stamped 3 chickens with red and white stripe shirts, a berret, holding a loaf of french bread and a glass of wine. Her husband pointed out that male chickens were roosters not hens but she didn't care she just turned them into Men Hens. So someone said Top This and of course I couldn't resist. I decided that the French Maid Hens would go well with her men hens. It is so cute. Go to Paper Craft Planet and look into the gallery for day 3. I also won the drawing for that day. A really cool Holiday Stamp Set. Can't wait. I'm off to make Pipers Pipeing.

I found inchies. Oh No! Something else to explore. This is an inchie stanp by Inkadinkado.

That ribbon is made with some pull ribbon I found at this really cool store called Wrapped All Up. It is local and I can't believe I didn't find out about it sooner.

I love my Big Shot. These rings are cut with a Cuttlebug circle die.

I decided that the birds needed the tin cans for calling. Cell phones are too small.

3 French Maid Hens with 3 feather dusters, a cap and apron and heels and black stockings.

2 turtles dreaming of flying like the doves in the sky.

This is the inside of the 1st day card. I love these cards that use the clear acrylic. I have to get some more.

Those are blue rhinestones on the flowers and the trim around the edge is Prima decorated tape. Love that stuff.

I have been so busy and I will try to keep up with this better. You all have a good week.
