A Memorable Day

I just wanted to say that this has been a really special day what with the 44th President of the US being sworn in. I was lucky enough to get back home from picking the girls up in time to see the big event on TV. I had tears in my eyes thinking about what a great moment in history this is. Anyway now I'm waiting for Sam and Logan to get here and watching all the inaugeral festivities. So here are some cards I've made in the past few weeks. I have a lot of other things to share but I don't think I have time right now. I'll just do a little now and later when I know I can spend more time I'll post some Layouts.
One sketch and one paper line, four different cards. These cards I did last week for one of the Serindipity Scrapbooks Winter Sketchfest Challenge. I love it when Serindipity does their sketchfests or special crops. They always have the best sketches and challenges. You should check them out sometime. There is a link in my sidebar. I used my new Basic Grey Bittersweet Paper for these.

This is a new stamp set that I bought the other day. Inkadinkado Birds. This was for a technique Challenge on PCP or Splitcoast, I don't remember now. Anyway the Technique was to use emboss resist. I stamped the 3 birds onto white card stock as well as sand and embossed all with clear embossing powder and then I used the smooshing ink onto freezer paper, spray with water and pick up color technique. I did a little bit on the birds and then covered the birds body with embossing and then I did more inking. I also used my new embossing folder for the brown background. Diva Monster and Joe Monster are in Love. All the hearts are foam hearts that I picked up in the dollar bin at Target as well as the printed papers. Gotta love that.

I used some paper from SU that is retired but you can still get the rub ons and the stamp set in the new catalog. That background paper is some of my hand made paper.

New Su Rasberry Tart paper and a 2 step stamp set that is in the Sell-A-Bration. catalog for next month.

I hope everyone has a great week. I'm pretty sure i will.
