It Is Tuesday; New Release and Sketches

Today is New Release Day Over at Bugaboo Stamps. Run to the Catch the Bug Blog and check out the new stamps and the wonderful projects that the Design team made using them.

This is the card that I made using the pup. Is he adorable or what. I used Basic Grey papers for this and don't you just love the heart and pearls at the bottom. For the background on the heart I cut a mask of the dog and then used a sponge and Pink ink to color it in. Then I used versamark pen and chuncky embossing powder to cover the surface and then you must heat from the underneath to melt. That way you don't blow the powder all over.

The heart on the left is meant to be a cupcake topper and as cute as it is I don't think I would do the beads again. Not if you were going to do a lot. The one on the right is a sucker cover. See the next photo for the back. I printed the image (Bugaboo Stamps Butterfly Bears) and then I colored them with my Copics. I then covered the colored image with versamark and crystal clear embossing powder. I cut the heart shape out and then used the smoosh and lift method to color the background.

This is a wonderful heart shaped box that I made using a template that I found at Martha Stewart.com I used the new Cuttlebug Damask Frame set that I bought last week. It is a combo pack, a die and an embossing folder. I used pink cardstock for the base, Basic Grey papers for the hearts and the image is one of the wonderful images from Bugaboo Stamps. Valentine Baskets. I painted the bunny with irridescent white paint to get that shimmery look.

Here is what it looks like with all the candy spilling out.

Here is the back side of the gift box. Love that folder.

SKETCHES BY TAMARA

JOURNALING CHALLENGE #104
Today is Sketches By Tamara Day Also. Each month one of the sketches is a Journaling Challenge. And to tell you the truth it is always difficult for me to journal on my layouts so I enjoy these challenges. This month the challenge is to "Journal About Something in your life that you have overcome. It can be something very personal and of great importance or something that was a big moment or change in your life." Well this layout says it all. I always had a cigarette in my hand for as long as I can remember and most of the time for more years than I care to remember I had a glass of wine or drink in my other hand. I never thought I would be able to quit....until I had a Heart Attack. That worked. I am getting ready to celebrate my 2 year anniversary on Feburary 3. I have gained a ton of weight since then but I have not smoked or drank since. I am very proud of myself. I look at these pictures of myself and I miss those days and times but then I look at the pictures of the Cigarette butts and I don't miss that. I miss having a glass of wine but I don't miss having hang-overs and feeling yucky. I really miss being skinnie but I just need to exercise and stop eating all those ice cream bars.

So please pop on over to Sketches and check out what the other Design Team members did with this challenge this week. And remember if you decide to do this challenge we would love to see it.

Have a great day everyone.
