I Went Shopping

I have been waiting since Jan. for the new Tim Holtz products to hit the stores. I was lucky enough to get all the new Ink Pads for my Birthday back in Feb. But it has been a long wait for the latest. So yesterday I got to pick up a couple of the Sizzix Dies and one of the pattern paper pads. I couldn't wait to get home and get started on something. I have had all these wonderful photos of my dad and my family for a while now printed and waiting for some pages. So these were perfect for these new papers. I have to tell you I thought my Daddy was the best. All through my childhood and even in my teens and especially into my early twenties. And then he died. That was thirty years ago and there still is a big ole hole in my heart that nothing will ever fill. I have the best memories of him and of all the family time we all shared. I have six brothers and sisters (had 7) and we are and always have been really close. So when I work with pictures like this the pages always seem to come together by themselves.
I love this butterfly die by copics with 4 embossing folders and also this Sizzix small butterfly embossing and cutting die. I cut butterflies from different pattern papers and one from grunge paper and then highlighted the raised edges with Distress Ink.

I cut the background piece of paper for this photo with the Sizzix Top Notes Die and also a piece of acrylic packaging from the die and then I ran that through my Big Shot using an embossing folder. I used alcohol inks on the edges of the acrylic piece and the raised it off the photo using buttons between the two pieces and then adding a button on top. These buttons all came from a package that I picked up at Wall Mart.

This is the butterfly that I cut from Grunge Paper. The red glitterie wavy stuff is from a Christmas Pick that I had around and the flowers are made from silk flowers layered with punched paper flowers.I used red Stickles for the butterfly trails.

He was a cadet in the Air Force in Texas in this photo, going to school to become a pilot. He went on to fly in all Theaters during WWII. What a baby. I don't even know if he was 21 yet in this photo.

I cut the 12" square pattern paper using a template from a purchased border paper and then I used thick double stick tape to mount it on the brown background paper. I stamped around both layers with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Look at that curly light brown hair that I had.

Hope you liked this.
Have a great day everyone and I'll be back on Friday.

A New Release at Bugaboo and A Surprise Sketch Challenge.

It is New Release today at Bugaboo and Jodie has Three new lines to introduce today. Wait until you see. Go to the shop and check it out, you will love them all I'm sure.
You are going to love the Blog today and all the samples that the Design Team made. Our new team is in place and woo hoo it is so cool to see all the new work. Run on over and check it out here.
I did these three cards using one of each of the new lines. I can't wait for summer so this first card was perfect for me. This line is called A Kids View and they are all so cute. This cute little birthday card is from the Clown Numbers line. Oh My Gosh I have to have them all.
And then there are these adorable Jesse Bear Angels. I really need more hours in every day to color and make projects.

Testerday I was looking for an image and I got frusterated because I couldn't go right to the image. I do have a lot of Bugaboo images you see because I Love them. Anyway I decided I needed to make a copy of the ones I have so I could just look at them it would be more time efficient and I wouldn't order the same image again. Yes I have done that. So this is what I came up with and now I will have to find a binder and then do other images the same way. I am so clever.

I just had to share this little gem that I did a couple days ago. How cute are these cats? Again this is only two of seven images in this series of Garden Cats. I combined two for this card but be sure to go check them out.
Now today over at Sketches By Tamara there is a surprise sketch for everyone. Since there are some months that have 5 Tuesdays in them she has come up with a great idea to fill that extra Tuesday. I can't wait to do this one. I'm working on it today. Wait until you see what all the Fans did with this concept. I just think this is such a great idea. Woo Hoo! And don't forget to check back in a few days to see who the new Design Team will be. You have until tomorrow yo get your application in if you would like to try out. Hurry I have really enjoyed the past 3 months.

Have a great day everyone.

A Challenge And A Special Treat

Well here it is Saturday again and time for another Bugaboo Challenge.

But before I go on if you are comeing here from Sandye's blog you are in the right place for our Introduction Blog Hop.

This week we are having a Color Challenge. You are to use the colors Kiwi, Cameo Coral and Barely Bananna.

I know it sounds a little strange but look what I did and if you need more inspiration run over to the Challenge Blog and check out what all the other DT members did.

Now on to the Surprise part. As you all know we had a Design Team Call last month and the team is assembled and today each one of the current Design Team Members is introducing one of the new Design Team Members. So without further ado let me Introduce

Sandy Hulsart. Sandy has been stamping since the summer of 2005 and she teaches in the Mid Michigan area. Sandy has two wonderful blogs that I hope you will visit. The first, Creative Moments with Sandy ,is her all around blog where you can find all the wonderful work she does for all the Design Teams she is on and challenges she does, and the second Scenes By Sandy is dedicated to her Scenic stamping. Wait until you see this. Visiting both of her blogs makes me want to go get creative. I would love to take classes from her.
I had a chance to ask Sandy a few questions the other day and here is what she had to say.

How did you find Bugaboo Stamps? "I was looking for other Digi Stamp companies and found you listed on a blog."

Do you have a favorite Bugaboo series? " I love the Critters and the Brats and Stella and JJ are hilarious and...I guess we better say I love them all!"

What are three words that best describe yourself? "Artist, Detail Oriented and Focused"

What craft supply (ies) could you not live without? " Copics, without a doupt."

How would you describe your style? "I don't think I have a style. I just throw things together and they seem to work out. I have a good eye for color, which helps me mix and match papers and color my images to perfectly match."

From what I've seen of Sandys work I would have to agree with all of these answers. I am so excited about Sandy joining our team so now if you want to see who else will be joining us go to Audreys blog next. After you have collected all the names of all the new Design Team members e-mail a list to tsmiller@insightbb.com to be put in for a drawing for a special prize. And don't forget to join us in our color Challenge this week for your chance to win either 7, 4, or 2 free images. Have fun hopping.

Here are a couple of other cards I made using Bugaboo Images this week. I used my new MS Ladybug punch on this one. I love the colors in both of them.

Pile It On,,, In More Ways Than One

I keep really busy with Design Team Work and Family and now with my Mom living with us but I also find time to make cards and projects for other things by some incredible Stamp Designers. I am just amazed at all the Digital Stamp Designers there are now. I could live to be a hundred and still will never get all the images finished that I want to. WOW! So here are a few that I have picked up lately and a few challenges that I have been working on.
For Pile It On this last week we were to use pastel colors. These Basic Grey Papers from the new Kioshi line are perfect.
Sweet Sketch Wednesday had a blog hop on Friday and the sketch I used is from that, and the image is by the Digi Stamp Boutique who is the sponsor for this challenge. There is still time for you to jump in
A Spoon Full Of Sugar Challenge # 95 is to be Easter Inspired
Little Red Wagon, the challenge #20 is to use Copics. Here is a close up of the coloring. I have been using a paper that I picked up at Office Depot last week. It has little colored flecks throughout but it does like to bleed.

This week at Sassy Cheryls Challenge Blog you are to use the colors Orange, green, black & glitter. Is this little girl with the ducks too cute or what? I went into my Halloween stash to find these papers.
Crafty Creations challenge #59 this week is to use Spots & Dots.
Creative Card Crew challenge #46 is also to Go Dotty. I think this card fits both those challenges quite well.
I made this card for my Mom's birthday today. I made it 7 1/2" X 5 1/2" so it would be eaiser for her to see. This is a Bugaboo Image from the Wee Ones Birthday Images that I used here.

This is a Mo Manning image from Mo's Digital Pencil and I had made it for one of the challenges that they had last week but I forgot to post it in time. I just love these little Easter Girls. The papers are from my stash and the ribbon is from Michaels. Copics coloring and faux stitching.

I can't believe this but I just spent a half hour looking for who this stamp is from and I give up. I will look tomorrow and let you know.

This is a image I found at All That Scraps a couple weeks ago. I really like these. They are called Sweet November.

I won these two images a couple weekends ago from the blog Hop over at the Digital Stamp Botique.

Have a Great rest of the weekend.

Friday Freebie at Bugaboo and an Experiment.

Today is Friday Freebie over at Bugaboo and wait until you see these. I only got one card made this week from One of the Freebies that Jodie has been kind enough to give us all. This cutie little Bunny Rabbit. There are more in the store so don't forget to run on over and grab a few.

There is also a freebie Bugaboo Brat playing Soccer for you too. He is from the Bugaboo Brat Sports collection that she just released. I have to go and get all the others now.

You must hop on over to the Challenge Blog and see what all the designers came up with to share with you today. Woo Hoo. Also if you are a follower of the challenge Blog that is great and you proably already know what Jodie did yesterday. There are two more freebies to celebrate hitting 200 followers so run over and grab them for yourself and start following Bugaboo so we can reach 300 and get more images. Hee Hee!
This is the card I made with this weeks freebie. My sister and I went to see Alice In Wonderland the other day at the IMAX theater and in 3-D and what a trip. I just loved it and can't wait to take my husband to see it. Anyway if you haven't seen it this may not make sence to you but I have top tell you that there was a scene at the beginning that made me want to run home and be creative. It is a scene in the garden in Wonderland with the talking roses. I stopped on the way home that day and bought the book that goes with the movie and then at Michaels to buy these adorable little face molds that are made for Sculpy. I used crayola air dry clay to press into the molds and then painted them with acrylic paints. I am still experimenting but this is what I have so far.

I will be back when I get some more finished.
Have a great day everyone.

A Card Sketch and New Release

Today at Sketches By Tamara we have a Card Sketch for you. I made mine to fit a standard business size envelope. Dont forget to head on over to the blog and check out the great samples by all the Design Team Members.

I used some digital paper for this and an image from Sassy Cheryl. The image is colored with my Copics. I just love those things. The purple strip across the back with gold dots is made by punching holes in the strip of paper and then running a piece of tape face up along the back and then sprinkle the glitter on. This is so quick and easy and a great addition to any card or layout. Gotta love the shiney stuff.

It is NEW RELEASE DAY AT BUGABOO. And look at these wonderful images that Jodie made.

How cute is this Cat and bird? It is hard to see in this photo but I used Rangers Crackel Paint on the birdhouse. The Design Team had a great time with the images this week so don't forget to go check them out. The DT call is going on until the end of the week so if you are interested in joing a great group of gals head over and get your app. in.
Basic Grey paper again and Crystal Effects on the balloons, the large B and saying is an old SU stamp. I just love these birthday images.
And Jodie made the paper that goes with this too. Woo Hoo. I combined the music notes in photoshop and then printed it out to the size I wanted. And then I cut and embossed the yellow, green and blue notes.

Have a Great Day.

New Release at Bugaboo and a Recipie Challenge

It is Tuesday so that means it is New Release Day over at Bugaboo. Woo Hoo! Run on over and check out what all the Design Team members did with the new images being released today. I made these cards with two of the images. This first card also will be submitted to the following challenges. I love doing these multiple challenges.
Pile It On: The One You Must One color
Crafty Creations: All One Color
Stampin For The Weekend: Monochromatic
Create4Fun: Sketch
This little cutie pie rag doll is colored with my Copics and I used the new Basic Grey Kioshi paper pad.

Recipie Challenge At Sketches By Tamara. The challenge comes from our DT Member Rachel
Use Embossing
Vellum or Transparency
Felt
I did this layout of my Granddaughter KayLynn in a new hat that grandpa brought home one day. Isn't she cute? She looks like Heidi.
The embossing is on the flowers, I stamped and embossed flower images on pattern paper (in this case Basic Grey paper) and then cut them out.
The felt is in the lettering of the Title and along the side I added felt leaves.

And the Transparency is form Basic Grey and goes along with the pattern papers.

Have a great day everyone.
