The Wedding Album

On Saturday there will be a Big Blog Hop at Scrapbook News and Review http://snrcardiverse.ning.com/group/ohsaycanyouseebloghop and My Blog will be on the list. Come to SNR on Sat. for a great good time. Lots of Blogs to visit, Blog candy to try and win ( I will have some too) and a chance to make new friends. I hope to see you here. Check back Fri. for more details. Here is a little sneak peek of something I did for the day.
This is the album that I bought for the Wedding Album for Catie and Jason. I was so lucky to find the perfect album and papers and accessories , It made the process a little easier. I got it finished just in time. There are auctually 2 other pages that I finished at the last minute and didn't photograph them. I put their wedding invitation on the inside front cover.

I love the paper for the first and last page. This came with the package of papers I bought to do this album. I punched along the top and bottom edge and attached the silver paper to a black cardstock. The butterflies are colored with alcohol inks.

The center circle has a piece of acrylic in the center and then I stamped a florish on with Staz On and outlined that with Stickels.

I used a paper doilie for the center and then cut a scallop circle and the flourishs are freehand doodle.

I cut butterflies from pink metal sheets from Ten Second Studios.

I used buttons and rhinestones for the center of the flowers and I put sequins around the inside edge of the scallop paper.

Close up of the flowers and lace. The black velvet ribbon runs through the lace.

I just love this silver paper. I wish I could find more. I stamped, punched and die cut hearts.

The acrylic overlays sometimes presents a problem in covering up the glue dots but I have found that rhinestones work well.

Texture, texture, texture. I love all the different textured papers I used on these two pages.

These are pages for Jason and Maddie and Caitie and Maddie. These should be really cute.

A close up of the flowers I made for these two pages. I stamped the two outside flowers and embossed with embossing powder and then the pink is watercolored on. The center flower is cut with a sizzix die using several papers and a piece of Ten Second Studio pink metal. Caitie and Maddie, I can't wait to see the dress that Maddie is going to wear. She will look great no matter what.

I used IOD tape around the smaller frame pieces . I just love the shape of the background piece on these two pages.

The overlay on the frame piece comes in a seperate package that has several different frame overlays in it. Love those crystal rhinestones.

I used a lot of different papers and textures on these two pages. I also cut a few flourishes.

The last page: This mirrors the front page. I would love to see them put a photo of the three of them looking back over their shoulders. We will see. The frame for this is a chipboard piece that goes with the papers with some silver Stickels to accent it.

One other layout today.

I had started this Layout of Claudette a month or so ago. and then I got busy with a bunch of other things and lost track of this. I used Daisy D papers and distressed edges, cut out flowers added some buttons and a couple doves and there you go. The lace is a doilie from Georges moms things that we got after she died. They have been sitting in a box in the linen closet for years and I decided it was time to use them in Layouts. Look at the size of that rose. This was from the first bloom of the season this year. Always the best.

Have a Great week!

Mini Crop, Mini Crop...One More Day

First of all I want to remind everyone to head over to Pages In Time tomorrow for a crop hosted by Rayette. http://pagesintimestoresite.ning.com/forum/topics/online-summertime-crop

Come join myself and everyone at Pages In Time for The Online Summertime Crop of 2009 on Saturday June 27th. I have put together some great challenges and fun games for you to enjoy. The crop will run from 8am to Midnight PST (You may work on these throughout the weekend but on time points will be awarded) With prizes being awarded for the most points accumulated throughout the day. So set that yard work aside for one day and come join us. And while your there don’t forget we have live chat so you can chat with myself and other members of our great DT.

Here is another sneak peek of the Wedding Album. I will post all the pages on Sunday. This has been so much fun to make.
I made some cards this week for the Verve Release Challenge. This first one uses the smooch and lift technique for the background piece. I also added drops of reinkers and used my compressor to blow the ink to create some really interesting effects.
I used the smooch and lift technique to do the four background squares. The center piece is alcohol ink on clear acrylic and the image is stamped on the backside of that.
The paper for this card is Scribble, Scrabble (I love it) and the image is stamped and embossed with Distress embossing powder. The background of the bird was done using the smooch and lift technique. Lots of smooching this week. It is a fun technique.
I love this paper, it is My Minds Eye and it is so bright and sunny looking. Robot image is one of the new SU sets.
This is #5. A card for Catie for her wedding shower this Sat.
Claudette was here all week and she decided to make cards for the Verve Release Challenge too. She did a wonderful job and now she has a Gallery at Splitcoast Stampers. Yea Claudette. Thats My Girl!

Have a really great day.

For some reason my blog entry is being difficult this morning so I am not sure where to add info. My photos are turning up as lots of letters and numbers and dots and dashes. So let me just say
This is a Layout that I did using my Pages In Time Kit for June. There is so much stuff in this kit. They are sold out of the June Kit but look for next months kit and order it while you can. The kits are a great deal.

I am working on a wedding album for my niece for a shower and I can't wait to post it here. I want it to be a surprise so I can just show this little sneak. In case she visits my blog. I'll post the rest of the photos Sunday.

Have a great day everyone.

Mini Crop This Weekend

Over at Pages In Time this weekend there is a Mini Crop hosted by Leslie. The challenges and games and fun begin at 7a.m. eastern time which is 4 a.m. here but it is night time where she is! Australia! Down Under! Saturday June 13. Come to http://pagesintimestoresite.ning.com/forum/categories/crops-and-other-on-line-events/listForCategory and join the fun. The design Team is planning crops throughout the next few months. We will all host a crop of one kind or another and it should be a lot of fun.

This is another Layout that I have made for Pages In Time with supplies from the Pages In time store. Karen has an amazing selection of products to choose from. The papers I used are Stemma and Little Yellow bicycle. I just love this pointy flower. There is a tutorial over at Pages In Time by our Artist of the Month Keeperofmemories (Carol) in the Forum. It makes a great accent or if you wanted you could do a bunch.
Rachel Ann Stamps. I couldn't resist. I colored the monkeys with colored pencils and added some Stickels to the star.

I had to mix the alphas because I Didn't have a full set of either one. I think this makes the title more interesting and it catches your eye because of the difference.

This layout is one I did using some paper from little shoebox that I picked up the other day. It is the cutest darn paper. And KayLynn in the glasses is pretty darn cute too. I distressedthe edges of the photo by using a sanding block as well as two different size hole punches. Some of the flowers I made using die cuts and my Big Shot and some were cut from the pattern paper.

Add some glitter and a few rhinestones and your good to go.

This is my take on Sketch 23 by Julie over at 52sketches52weeks. The subject matter is Claudette with the new Bowker addition Boogie. That is what I like to call him , he also goes by Boo and Booger. He is a rescue dog and he is the sweetest darn thing and he knows lots of tricks. Willow, the Bowkers other dog really enjoys the company. I have more photos for more layouts that I can't wait to get to.

The papers I used in this are K & Co. and I just love them. There are several size pads of paper in the series, a pad of punch out flowers and a lot of embellies. So cute and it makes putting together a page really quick and easy.

There was also an Inspiration Challenge over at PaperCraft Planet at the Chez Applemimi group (new to the site) and that is where the idea for the lower left side came from. I rolled widths of card stock and placed them under the main PP's to create the wave effect. When you close the scrapbook the waves won't flatten out.

The circles are cut with Spellbinders Nesties Small pinking Circles and the larger outter circles are cut with pinking sheers. I then used embrodiery thread to wind around the outside edge on two and stitched beads to the third.

A close-up of the flowers, just punch them out and layer them up and add rhinestones for the centers. How easy is that?

Have a great day everyone. And a really great weekend.
